Who are the Bodacious Biking Babes?

Founded in 1999 by Vicki Summers, The Bodacious Biking Babes (BBBs) are an El Dorado Hills based women’s cycling team sponsored by Bicycles Plus.  With a 70 member team, the BBBs have many levels of riders from beginners to advanced. Our most accomplished riders have even ridden the roads of the Tour de France.

Weekly rides are posted to Team Members who chose which are best suited for their skill level.  The team rides on the American River Bike Trail as well as in Folsom, Penryn, Loomis, El Dorado Hills, Shingle Springs, and Cameron Park.  We also have team training every summer with local professional cyclists.  While not a race team, the BBB’s strive to improve skills and to enjoy the friendships they make along the way.

With the motto of “Girls Geared to Give,” they annually participate in the Emigrant Trails Bike Trek (ETBT); a fundraiser for Breathe California. In addition to ETBT, they participate in many one-day rides benefitting other charitable organizations such as Ride for a Reason, American Cancer Society, Parkinson’s Foundation, MS, and many more.  In the last 14 years, the BBBs have raised over $700,000 for charity.  The BBB’s combine philanthropy with their love of cycling. With the help of Bicycles Plus owner John Crews, they recently donated bicycles to foster and orphaned children in Placer County and to World Vision International.

The BBBs are not only “Girls Geared to Give” but are also about fun, fitness, and friendship.  We welcome new riders to our team to share our love of cycling, having fun along the way.
